I have to change this up to a solid 3 stars. Just lately the last couple times I've been there, it seems like it gets dirtier and dirtier each time. But the servers are still great, the food is yummy, and the orders are quick. But these bus boys really need to put a little more love in cleaning off tablesand the bar... I walked in with the sun glaring on the bar displaying the hundreds of old glass rings and crusty salsa skaters every where. No thanks.

I feel like this La Ha got a bad rep when they first opened up. Yes, I too shared in the shitty experience of the initial opening and said I would give them one more shot. I recently did and must say it was a major improvement. First off, they offered a free order of queso for liking the their Facebook page. There isn't much I wouldn't do for free queso so we were off to a good start. My first time there, the only saving grace of the entire experience was the Sizzling Alhambra that my friend ordered. I decided I would go for that myself. It was just as good as the first time and could easily feed two people. The service was on point except for one moment when we first sat down. Our waiter had just finished cleaning another table and came by to greet us and see if were were ready to order drinks or apps... only he was still carrying a stack of dirty plates that he set down at our table while he chatted with us. He was obviously trying to be efficient but it was certainly a bit weird. Other than that, no issues at all. If you tried them once and had a bad experience, I would recommend giving them another go. It worked out for me and I will be back. It's nothing more than your standard La Ha or Los Arcos but I'm happy to have another option in the neighborhood.

Food was great! Service started out super great and everything came fast, but I was with a group of friends and we were catching up. The staff didn't care for that and once our waiter brought us the check he became pretty rude after that. When a friend asked for more tea, the waiter pitched a fit and brought her a warm glass of tea. He kept coming back to see if we would pay and would roll his eyes every time. It's great for a quick stop for a meal, but I wouldn't plan on staying past that time frame if you wanted to be treated with some respect as a patron.

Can you say shit on this site.. How anyone even eats here you morons!!! PLEASE PLEASE CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN!!! Mexico should be insulted that they are allowed to call this Mexican food. I would be worried about an international incident. Can I give it Zero stars.

I'm not sure what happened with La Hacienda last night... Perhaps everyone wanted Mexican. They were packed! We got seated faster then expected, which was great, and then... The REAL wait began. It took over an hour to get our food. I got the steak Fajitas, and they had a strange taste. Not like usual. My husband tried something different, the Jefe Steak and said it was really good. Our server was super nice and VERY apologetic about the wait. We'll go back and I am hoping it was just a fluke about the odd tasting fajitas, and then I'll update my review...

Many times we had visited this place. Everytime we say to ourselves: "let's try it again, they must have fixed things." Every time we are wrong. Never again will I go here. Never pay my hard earned money for such crappy service. Rude waiters that forget about you or decide to mop the floor right next to you with dirty swamp water while your eating! This place won't last long.

Though they haven't been open long... they've got to do better than what they're presenting. I ordered a taco, and upon opening it had several ounces of water fall into my lap.The meat must have kept in some sort of liquid bc the entire tortilla was soaked. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant experience to date. And I love Mexican food.

Service here left much to be desired. Seems like not much has changed since opening last year. The server must have called us "amigos" about 30 times. I understand the first time, or even 2, but he literally ended every single sentence with it. This was only when he made it to the table. I have NEVER at a restaurant, felt more neglected by the waitstaff. We felt more like we were on an assembly line. Then once the food came, it was charred. Not burnt, mind you, charcoal. Bottom line, the place is a joke, skip it.

Very disappointed in the food quality. Ordered a chili relleno. The item that was brought to the table was a small slice of chili with meat in a greasy cheese sauce. I sent the item back. The manager tried to argue with me that the item delivered was correct even though it didn't look like the photo or match the description in the menu. This is the worst service and food ever. Avoid this establishment at all cost.

I have had lunch and dinner here probably around 20 times. Service and food is excellent every time. I eat Mexican everywhere I go so I have a lot to compare it too. The hacienda on the other side of mount pleasant near ravenal bridge is not nearly as good as the one near the new walmart in mount pleasant(I have had both of them).

I can't remember going to a Mexican restaurant with worse food than this place. Maybe a step up from taco bell, but not too much. Drinks were weak. Not going back.

Horrible meal. I've enjoyed the other LaHacienda locations for years but this was shocking and disturbing at a whole new level. Took 90 minutes to eat which unless they are chasing the chickens down 17 for my fajitas is way too long. My beans (the fave part of the meal) were cold and we never had enough tortillas for the meal. The meal came out at all different times so we couldn't eat together as a group - sort of the point of joining each other for a meal. All around terrible experience. I felt sorry for the staff, they seems completely out of sorts and unprepared. Big disappointment and for a $30 meal for two it was not something that I will repeat any time soon.

Awesome! If you like good food - check it out! Great service and staff. It's always busy for dinner so you might want to call ahead.

I understand that this restaurant has only been open a week, however it rates as one of the worst dining experiences ever in life and I am no spring chicken. It was so bad on every level that I won't even give it a second chance. I should have known there was an inattention to detail when I walked in at 6pm and the open sign had hours of operation as 9-5. Also there is no clear path for a waiting line and if it snakes the wrong way then waiting diners hover over the make-on-demand guacamole stand. Yuck, I don't know about you but I prefer not to have people's butts hanging about my food as it's being prepared. There were 3 of us dining; I ordered at the waitress' suggestion (menu is a bit overwhelming and over produced with cheesy graphics) and my friends each ordered fajitas. I was told my chimichanga came with Ranchero sauce which at La Hacienda is predominantly canned, overly-salted melty cheese. It was inedible. The beans were cold. My meal was served 10 minutes before my friends' meals and after a few minutes I took 2 bites asked for a second opinion and sent my meal back. The waitress did ask if I wanted something else and I declined thinking my friends would be ready for bed before another meal showed up. One friend had chicken fajitas and the other beef. The fajitas were inconsistently cooked. Some of the chicken was hot and tasty, other pieces cold and chewy. Three tortillas were served for 2 adults to share. We asked for more and when they didn't come I finally got up to fetch them, as I had sent my meal back I had nothing else to do. The tortillas were cold as were the rice and beans served with one of the meals. The chips were abundant; sometimes greasy and sometimes not. The salsa was fresh but had no heat. I asked for a hot version and although it wasn't very hot it was delicious. Since my meal had turned into chips and scraps from my friends I asked for more of the hot salsa. I was served something entirely different and not as flavorful. I suspect their sour cream is not real dairy and the guacamole served with the fajitas had the consistency and taste like the kind that comes from a bag. While we were waiting--an hour for mostly tepid Mexican food-- I noticed that both of the tables in my line of sight also had problems. One woman got her meal after her 2 friends were done eating so she packed it up for take away. There was a family of 4 next to us, 3 of the meals were served but Dad's wasn't so the family waited. By the time his food came the daughter was eating her nachos with a spoon. I am not making this up. Oh, and the silverware at La Hacienda is a step above the utensils you get at the airport. It's flimsy and cheap. Spring for some real cutlery! Our table was not secured to the wall or the floor and with the slightest lean it moved so we were continually moving it around. More disconcerting is my booth seat was not secured so every time I moved or the person sitting behind me shifted we shoved each other belly first into our respective tables. The first person was a big, burly guy so it was a bit more stable but once a smallish woman sat down it was a free for all; we were moving each other every few minutes. Fortunately we were both good natured and the ridiculousness of it made for decent entertainment that turned out to be the best part of the evening. I spoke with the manager because he was standing by the guacamole stand as I was leaving. He apologized and said he was buying furniture pads and seemed genuinely shocked that the food and kitchen service was horrible. I don't believe it because most all customers in the restaurant looked peeved and the entire staff was running around in confusion and a few seemed close to hysteria. I would say only try La Hacienda in a month for lunch if you have a lot of time and a coupon.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
